How To Prepare For Your Spider Control Treatment

How To Prepare For Your Spider Control Treatment

Getting your home ready for exterior spider control is simple, but doing it properly makes a major difference in how effective and long-lasting your treatment will be.

When your property is prepared correctly, we can treat all key areas where spiders live, hide, and rebuild webs. This means faster results, fewer spiders, and longer protection.

Before Your Scheduled Treatment, Take a Few Minutes to Prepare the Exterior of Your Home

Clear the foundation perimeter around your home. Move patio furniture, planters, toys, firewood, and storage items at least one to two feet away from the exterior walls. Spiders commonly nest behind these objects, and clearing them allows us to treat those hidden areas properly.

Trim back vegetation that is touching your home. Bushes, tree branches, vines, and tall grass create direct pathways for spiders and other insects. Cutting these back helps prevent future activity and allows full treatment coverage.

Close all windows and doors. This ensures the treatment remains outside and prevents any product from entering your home during application.

Remove or cover outdoor items. Pet bowls, toys, gardening tools, food plants, patio furniture cushions, and barbecue equipment should be moved or covered as a precaution.

Open all patio furniture umbrellas.

Unlock gates and ensure full access. We need to treat the entire exterior, including sides and backyard areas. Clear access ensures no spots are missed.

Keep pets and children indoors during the treatment and until surfaces are fully dry, approximately 2 hours.

Complete any outdoor projects, such as cleaning,  painting, staining, and pressure washing surfaces that are going to be treated.

What To Expect During Your Treatment

Your exterior spider control service is designed to be quick, effective, and minimally disruptive.

Most treatments take approximately 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the size of your home.

We remove visible webs and apply a professional-grade treatment to key areas where spiders live and rebuild, including siding, soffits, corners, entry points, and around windows and doors.

You may notice immediate improvement, with webs removed right away and spider activity dropping significantly over the following days.

After Your Treatment

To get the best results, avoid rinsing or pressure washing the exterior of your home after service. The treatment is designed to last, but excessive water can reduce its effectiveness.

Rain will not impact the treatment once it has dried.

It is normal to see reduced spider activity quickly, with continued improvement as the treatment works over time.

Why Preparation Matters

Spider control is most effective when we can fully treat the areas where spiders hide and build webs.

If areas are blocked or inaccessible, spiders can remain and continue reproducing. Proper preparation ensures complete coverage, which leads to longer-lasting results and fewer repeat issues.
